What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a normal state of consciousness characterized by a focused concentration, similar to what we can experience when concentrating or daydreaming and being oblivious to distraction. We naturally enter into this state multiple times a day without being aware of it. Hypnosis provides direct access to the subconscious mind by quieting the conscious mind. Anyone that sincerely wants to be hypnotized can be. The depth of hypnosis varies from person to person and even session to session for people.
How does Hypnosis work?
The key to hypnosis is understanding how our subconscious brain works. When something happens to us, our subconscious brain remembers it and helps us learn how to avoid that unpleasant or traumatic situation again. When something similar happens, our subconscious triggers a physical and emotional reaction as if the original event was happening again. Sometimes these reactions are healthy, like learning not to touch a hot stove. Some reactions can be unhealthy. Hypnotherapy can help you change your unhealthy reactions by working with your subconscious to literally “change your mind” and replace the unhealthy learned behavior with new, healthy ones.
How does the combination of Hypnotherapy and Counselling work?
